Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, presided over the 2024 Wai Khru and Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremonies titled “Honoring and Revering Our Teachers.” First-year students from nine faculties participated in the event: Faculty of Industrial Education, Faculty of Home Economics Technology, Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Industrial Textiles and Fashion Design, and Faculty of Architecture and Design. The ceremony took place on July 25, 2024, in the Mongkol Apha Conference Room, 3rd floor, Faculty of Business Administration, Bangkok Commercial Campus. The event began with a tribute to Prince Admiral Krom Luang chumphon Khet Udomsak, followed by the president lighting incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem. A student representative led the chanting and recitation of the Wai Khru prayer, followed by the students’ pledge. Student representatives then presented trays of flowers, incense, and candles to pay respect to the teachers, after which the president anointed textbooks and educational equipment.
During the event, certificates of excellence were awarded to students with outstanding academic performance for the year 2023 from nine faculties. The awards included two students from the vocational diploma program in Commerce, one student from the vocational diploma program in Home Economics, and twelve students from the vocational diploma program in Engineering. Additionally, awards were given to 14 students from the Faculty of Industrial Education, 26 students from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, 11 students from the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, 29 students from the Faculty of Business Administration, 12 students from the Faculty of Science and Technology, 22 students from the Faculty of Engineering, 12 students from Faculty of Liberal Arts, 11 students from the Faculty of Industrial Textiles and Fashion Design, and 11 students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of plaques of recognition to 13 students from the Student Organization and 13 students from the Student Council for their outstanding achievements in student activities. Certificates of merit were also awarded to 11 students who were recognized as “Outstanding Students of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon” for the year 2024. Following this, six scholarships were awarded by Phra Brahmavachiramonkol, the Abbot of Wat Rajathiwas Rajaworavihara, and 11 scholarships were provided by the Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon Alumni Association to assist students with their expenses. Additionally, the Alumni Association donated 10,000 baht to the Faculty of Home Economics Technology to support the organization of the “Chotiwet Games” competition exhibition.
Next was the awarding of prizes for the 2024 Wai Khru Tray Decoration Contest. In the Beautiful Design category, the first prize went to the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, the first runner-up was the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology, and the second runner-up was the Vocational Certificate Program in Commerce. Honorable mentions were awarded to the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Faculty of Industrial Education. In the Creative Design category, the first prize went to the Faculty of Business Administration, the first runner-up was the Vocational Certificate Program in Tourism Industry, and the second runner-up was the Vocational Certificate Program in Home Economics. Honorable mentions were awarded to the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the Vocational Certificate Program in Commerce, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Architecture and Design.
The event concluded with a Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony for new students, a celebratory performance titled “The Enchantment of Phra Nakhon” by the Kulap Show troupe from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and a wrist-tying blessing ceremony for student representatives.
