
On May 6, 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), led by Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, the university president, along with the executive team, traveled to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Victoria, Canada. The University of Victoria is a world-class institution renowned for its expertise in English language teaching and the development of teacher skills to meet international standards. This collaboration aims to drive the enhancement of the potential of RMUTP’s faculty and staff through a systematically organized English language skills development program. A total of 21 participants from all faculties, offices, and institutes under RMUTP joined the comprehensive staff capacity-building program, which includes both online learning in Thailand and intensive practical training in Canada with native-speaking instructors. The project is supported by the university’s budget.
This cooperation serves as a crucial mechanism to elevate the language proficiency and academic capabilities of staff. It not only focuses on improving English communication skills for teaching and learning but also emphasizes the university’s advancement toward becoming a leading international university. This is part of the Global English Proficiency Enhancement Program, preparing RMUTP to become an internationally recognized institution that adapts to the evolving landscape of 21st-century education, supports teaching for international students, and strengthens research competencies and best practices in international curriculum development. Moreover, it aims to systematically transfer knowledge within the organization, particularly promoting and enhancing education for RMUTP students to have more opportunities to learn in a globally oriented environment.
On this occasion, the executive team also visited the University of Victoria to observe their teaching and learning management, exchange ideas on developing English language skills for faculty and staff in higher education, and study their engineering programs and university administration. They engaged in knowledge exchange with the university’s leaders and faculty across various dimensions, especially in engineering, marking a significant step toward further cooperation between the two universities in many areas in the future.
