RMUTP Collaborates with Office of the Basic Education Commission to Enhance English Skills for Students According to CEFR Standards

Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), participated in a signing ceremony with Mrs. Kesthip Supawanich, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), to launch a project aimed at enhancing English learning skills to improve students’ language abilities according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The collaboration between Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon and the Office the Basic Education Commission took place on 7 May 2024 at the OBEC 1 Meeting Room, The Ministry of Education.

The partnership’s objective is to jointly develop an English learning skills curriculum for teachers, promoting students’ language abilities in line with CEFR standards. The project targets 901 quality primary schools, with over 1,000 English teachers and more than 100,000 students in grades 5 and 6. This initiative aims to elevate students’ English proficiency to an international level, aligning with the Minister of Education’s policy of enabling learning anytime, anywhere, and supporting teaching and learning. It also aims to enhance the quality of education in line with local contexts and demands, addressing educational disparities in Thai society.
