n January 27, 2025, Dr.Kongkiat Maha-in, Assistant to the President for Arts and Culture at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, presided over the Chinese New Year 2025 celebration under the theme ” Thewet Cultural Heritage Festival” at D-Hall, Thewet Campus, RMUTP. The event was organized by the Arts, Culture, and Environment Club, under the Student Organization, with the objective of encouraging student participation in preserving and promoting cultural traditions within a multicultural society, fostering appreciation for the diversity of ethnicities and languages, and ensuring the continuation of cultural heritage and traditions.
The event featured a variety of activities, including:
- A sacred worship ceremony to honor deities.
- A traditional lion dance performance.
- A cultural Walking Tour, guiding participants through historical Chinese shrines in the Thewes community, including:
- Shrine of Goddess Sai Thong (Thewarat Market)
- Shrine of God Lao Lek (Thewarat Market)
- Pun Thao Kong Shrine (Soi Lan Luang 13)
- Shrine of Goddess Tubtim (Chan Prawit Market)
The tour was led by renowned scholars from the Literature and History Bureau, Fine Arts Department, including Mr.Iyakhup Thanabat, Senior Philologist, and Mr.Chaisit Pananawong, Philologist, who provided historical insights and cultural knowledge to participants.
This event highlights RMUTP’s dedication to cultural preservation by fostering awareness, appreciation, and engagement in traditional practices among students and the broader community.
