RMUTP Participates in Offering Lanterns on Visakha Bucha Day

On May 8, 2025, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized the Visakha Bucha Day event for the year 2025. The university’s executives and staff participated in the ceremony to offer lanterns to the Phra Buddha Maha Mani Rattana Patimakorn (the Emerald Buddha) as an act of Buddhist worship at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, the Grand Palace.

The lanterns offered in this ceremony were crafted by the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, who possess expertise in intricate and meticulous arts and crafts. The lanterns reflect the clear identity of “Chotiwet.” Every year, RMUTP continues to preserve the beautiful Buddhist tradition of offering lanterns to the Phra Buddha Maha Mani Rattana Patimakorn, aiming to conserve the wisdom of traditional lantern and hanging ornament making in the present day.

Those interested can visit and admire the beauty of the lanterns and candles hung within the grounds of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram, which have been offered as Buddhist worship by devout Buddhists. This is in conjunction with the royal merit-making ceremony on the occasion of the Visakha Bucha Royal Ceremony. Visitors can enter and exit through the Sawatdisopha Gate on May 11, 2025, after the royal ceremony has concluded and His Majesty has departed, until 8:30 p.m., and on May 12, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
