RMUTP supports the activity “Delicious Treats Often Enjoyed in Dusit District.”

On May 15, 2025, Asst. Prof. Sattha Khaengpenkhae, Assistant to the President for Student Affairs, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, serving as a committee member of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area Development Participation Steering Committee (Dusit branch), led a team of faculty members and students to participate in the opening ceremony of the project “Delicious Treats Often Enjoyed in Dusit District.” The event was honored by Mr.Torsak Chotimongkol, Chairman of Advisor to Governor of Bangkok, who presided over the opening ceremony at Supreme Shopping Center, Samsen Road, Dusit District. The project took place from May 15 to 17, 2025.
The steering committee for participatory development in Dusit District, in collaboration with the Dusit District Office and Supreme Shopping Center, organized this event to promote the local economy and support local entrepreneurs by providing a creative space to showcase products and publicize traditional restaurants offering both savory and sweet delicacies unique to the Ratchawat, Sriyan, and Thewet neighborhoods. These areas are rich with stories and exquisite food, including long-established restaurants that have been part of the community for decades as well as new-generation eateries that creatively reflect the identity and lifestyle of the local community to a wider audience.
Moreover, the event provided an opportunity for students from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, and the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Suan Dusit University, to demonstrate their skills by participating in food sales booths.
Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon played an active role in supporting the event by organizing a live broadcast team from the Faculty of Mass Communication Technology to promote the event, presenting an opening performance by students featuring a group vocal rendition of the royal composition “Som Tum,” Thai traditional fabric draping demonstrations, and booths selling products by faculty and students from the Faculty of Home Economics Technology.
Throughout the three-day event, these activities are expected to stimulate the local economy and generate income for food vendors in the area, promote food tourism in Dusit District, and further develop the potential of the area as a compelling cultural and culinary tourism destination. Additionally, this initiative is anticipated to inspire other neighborhoods across Bangkok to develop their areas into economic hubs that create jobs and sustainable income for their communities.
