The President of RMUTP congratulated the boxing team on winning medals and encouraged them as they prepare to represent the region in the upcoming national competition.

Assistant Professor Dr. Amnat Iamsumang, Assistant to the President for Sports and Alumni Relations at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, led first-year students from the Applied Thai Program, Faculty of Liberal Arts, to meet Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, to extend congratulations on winning medals in the National Amateur Boxing and Muay Thai Competitions. These students participated in the 49th National Games qualifying round, Taksin Games, held in Chanthaburi Province, and won the following medals:

1. Mr. Arthit Champromrach won a gold medal in the Amateur Muay Thai competition,        48 kg weight class.

2. Mr. Samaphon Sueakhui won a silver medal, first runner-up, in the Amateur Boxing competition, light heavyweight category, under 81 kg.

3. Mr. Niratsai Phanthong won a bronze medal, second runner-up, in the Amateur Boxing competition, lightweight category, under 60 kg.

This meeting took place on July 15, 2024, at the President’s Office, Thewet Campus. The three athletes will represent their region in the 49th National Games, Chan Games, at the national level. Additionally, Mr. Mongkol Khamsuwan, a boxing coach at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, and Mr. Chaichat Kasemthanasomboon, an advisor to the Bangkok Boxing Committee and head of the S. Thanachot Boxing Camp, in his capacity as an advisor to the Boxing Sports Development Committee at the university, also attended the meeting to receive policies on student admissions and collaboration with various schools to recruit athletes for further studies at the university. This initiative aims to seriously promote Muay Thai and amateur boxing at the university, national, and international levels, helping to advance boxing as a form of soft power for the country.
